Hello!!
My husband and I literally just closed a couple weeks ago on a 1920s house in Greenville, South Carolina. We are in the process of restoring it as well as doing renovations. I stumbled across this fantastic website today while trying to do some research on the wood that is original inside the house/doors and I must say, I am quite impressed with this community! I decided to join in hopes you all can offer some insight on what we are discovering as well as a place to help pull through the already mounting frustration with wanting to own and restore a beautiful home!
I am looking forward to interacting with you all as well as seeing your journeys.

ReagasBGood, glad to have you join in. As Mick mentioned, you'll get lots of help for those difficult problems. There is not much old home related that one of us have had to deal with. Also we have many pro's who are generous with there advice to keep us from messing it up to bad.

Along with all the pros, there are a lot of us who are far from pros plugging away at our own projects, so don't worry about asking questions that you might think are stupid. I've learned so much already from these folks!
Welcome, ReagasBGood!

Welcome to the neighborhood y'all!
There aren't a lot of resources for old houses here in Greenville but I know a few. And while it's not the small city I grew up in anymore, this is stull a great place to live if you are a summertime kind of person. Looking forward to following along with your homes restorations and renovations!

I built a chimney for a comrade old;
I did the service not for hope or hire:
And then I travelled on in winter’s cold,
Yet all the day I glowed before the fire.
