Re: Another Completed Radio Cabinet
Here is a picture of the radio 100% complete. I usually don't get pictures with the electronics back in them, but I was at the radio shop picking up more cabinets, and it was still there.

Zenith 8S661 repaired and refinished, with electronics installed. I don't usually get to take pictures with the radio back in the cabinet.

Once again Al, another extraordinary cabinet. What is the story on this one?

Re: Another Completed Radio Cabinet
No exciting story on this one. It was in pretty good shape. The veneer on the top needed to be replaced due to water damage from plant pots and missing veneer. I did a box diamond type of pattern on the top, although, it is more of an elongated box. The photo finish was in poor shape in some places, so I had to be a little artistic, not my forte', but it came out fine. The walnut veneer is all natural, and the poplar was stained.

Re: Another Completed Radio Cabinet
The photofinish is notorious for flaking off on the 1942 Zenith cabinets like this one. Did you hand-paint the grain pattern back on or did you make the finish on a decal paper and transfer it?
