This popped up in one of my feeds. A very nice near original Gothic revival in an historic district. It looks like someone had a start at restoration it has decided to sell. It looks like all it would really need is a dedicated home owner with a vision, with maybe a bit of cash to spare.

Need to knock down a few walls to create an open floor plan. Also those windows - ugh! - some nice vinyl replacement windows from Window World should do the trick.

This is anarchist talk James, are trying to stir up the population of the District?

They might be a little drowsy after all that eggnog.
All the original details in this house make it something really special. I hope its eventual new owner is up to the task. What a showplace it could be.

Me too. It would make a spectacular house museum if the funds could be found.

Re: A home with potential
That is a nice house that still retains a lot of its originality. I think the top floor dormers may have come a little later, along with the gazebo (1880s maybe), as the trim doesn't quite match the rest of the house and the dormer windows appear to be 2 over 2. I really hope she finds an owner who treats her right.
The asking price isn't bad, either. Though, being in CT, whoever buys it can expect to pay a ton of property tax.

I did the service not for hope or hire:
And then I travelled on in winter’s cold,
Yet all the day I glowed before the fire.

MJ, now wouldn’t that entrance way make a statement on first viewing. Those windows on the landing appear to be backed onto an interior room (looking at the picture from the top of the landing). With full lighting behind it would look spectacular.
