Re: Our First House!
WOW! Nothing evokes that "old house" feeling for me like dark unpainted woodwork, along with rich and substantial wall & ceiling color. Cant wait to see your updated version of pics #4 & 5 in your original post.

I just knew that piece of wood being used a coat rack was not original!

Nicely done with the brick. Interesting find on that rack removal too.

Thank you, Lily.
It's nice to get a bit of good news as the first flooring estimate came in under what I expected. I'm just hopeful the guy who did upstairs will beat that price as I enjoyed having him complete work in the house.
The painter I am hopeful will complete the staining portion of my woodwork should be here tomorrow. Very hopeful I'll get a reasonable quote as I know he does good work.
Lastly, the contractor doing my patio and front walk came by last night and I signed his contract. Work should begin in about a week. Lots of work happening and I couldn't be more thrilled!

I just realized I never posted pictures of the status of the bathroom and the kitchen. Both are almost done. Pics to follow tomorrow.

Between traveling between NJ and CT, and not feeling that great, pictures will have to wait one more day, sorry!
I did, however, snap a pic of our horrible backyard. This constitutes the "before patio picture." The base work and prep begins tomorrow!

Re: Our First House!
Even just the bricks on pallets is a sight for sore eyes. 2 and 3/4" in jumbo brick will be used to make the ~200' front walk and ~700' patio. Pretty excited to see how this turns out.
