Exterior Paint!

Post by pappster85 »

I have been away from the site for a few months. It is so enjoyable to sign on again and take a look at what everyone has been up to with their homes! About a month ago I decided to bite the bullet and have the exterior of the house painted. It was slated for next year but after pulling down some AWFUL looking vinyl cedar shakes from the gables and finding cedar that is in fantastic condition, I decided to go for it and expose the rest. I have had nothing but positive feedback from the neighbors. It is amazing what a paint job can do for a home. :D

You can see the progress in the album link bellow. I will say that some of the color hue is a bit off in a few photos. The front of the house is spot on, the sides for some reason look different online than in person. I also learned one thing about painters. It seems to like to jump around when working!

I didn't even know there was faux shake in vinyl. What a difference indeed.

Are you going to keep to a monochomatic earthy palette, or are you going to pull in other colors as well?

Thanks for the update. It's always fun to follow folks' progress.

I plan on sticking with the new palette as it is now. I am not too sure that I want to add much more color.
