Here ar e a couple of before and after pics.
This is the section of wall that the original sink had been mounted.

This is my repair, I salvaged a section of the moldings from behind the new stove location to replace the cut out section, and repaired the wall.

This is the area I salvaged from. It’s the chimney mass were the original stove would have been. Notice the set back at the corner, that’s the ducting for the forced air. Also notice the trim is different.

Well I boxed in the whole area to be one mass. Salvaged the last remaining original wainscoting from the upstairs bathroom to continue the wainscot so it all looks like it should be there.

Final paint and ceiling trim installed and lights hung.
Today I have to remove four doors, our temporary sink, and empty what ever is left. The flooring guys will start tomorrow. (I hope)

looking good! It's interesting that with all the fancy millwork they did not use a skirt board in that room

Looking great, Gothichome ! BM Hancock Green is an excellent color. I used that in my living room a few residences ago, and many people said the same thing - "This color is so peaceful." Your woodwork is shown off to its best advantage with a fresh coat of light paint, too.

Here's to a speedy and painless floor installation.

Mick, there are signs that there was once a skirting board, about four inches tall. Long since gone. When I started the project it had 3/4 round over.

its coming really nicely. I like how you dealt with the missing moldings. Agree with Willa on the colors too. I like that green.

Looks beautiful! I love that light. Our kitchen is about that same shade of green, too.

I now need to knock 3/4 inch off the bottom of the doors, clean the hardware and reinstall.

More kitchen updates. Island is in, waiting on the granite.

This is it, almost finished. We might shuffle the Chatham cabinet to the cupboard location and seriously thinking of an Elmira stove.

Looks great, Gothic!! What a spectacular kitchen!! Very well thought out.
Elmira makes some terrific stoves. I also love that they are Canadian made.

So, when is the celebratory kitchen party? I think my invite got lost in the mail somehow...
