It's a really pleasing look. When I saw it, I immediately thought of the kitchen in the Harriet Beecher Stowe house, next door to Mark Twain's in Nook Farm, Hartford, CT:

Another window finished, well almost. I need to re restore the storm. The storm was the very first storm I restored (ever) six years ago. Compared to what I know now it's a bit of an amateurish attemp.

Was going to start on the large window in the hallway next, but it will have to Waite. I broke a pain in one of the first floor sashes this AM. so, as with all schedules I will adapt.

OK folks, I need some guidance from those with colour sense. This is going beside the front door. My question to those with colour sense. Do I paint it door colour which is a mossy green with window trim colour on the round over or the other way around. My view is this will tie the door colour to the trim colour.

I would paint it black. Wrought or cast iron (or pretenders thereof) always look tasteful in black IMO. Also black is very easy to match so if you were going to say, also paint the railings black it won't matter too much if this happens a year later.

I second Willa's opinion. With rare exceptions, wrought iron looks best when painted black. It ties in with the black door handles.

Beautiful fixture!

I should have been more explicit, it's the board colour we are having the delema with. The railing is slowly being painted black.

I would vote for green with the cream on the round over, or even the cottage red window color on the field instead of the green
