I wasn’t here when they measured but upper management said the set up a lazer measuring device, went straight on to a computer. Were done in a half hour. Pretty standard stuff these days.

Are you being affected by any of the Chatham area flooding ? I seem to recall you are very close to the river ?

Yup, see the ‘What I did today ‘ heading. Our three meter bank is now only a 60cm bank.

How goes the flooding today ? The rain did not happen overnight, which is good. I've read that the flooding seems to have peaked, with water levels 5.25 M (one meter = slightly more than a yard) higher than average.
How did the coal room make out ? How are you guys doing ?

Willa, we made out just fine. The river has gone down about a 40cm (a little over a foot) that is enough to stop the ingress of water. I’ll probably shut the pump bown before I go to bed this evening, not much left for it to pump. All things considered we got off lucky, water never reached the furnace. Coal room maybe in inch deep.Once I got the pump going it easily kept up with inflow. So unless the Thames starts to run up hill, we’re good. We fortunately had the foresight years ago to place every thing in tubs that sit on the floor. So I don’t think we’ll have to deal with any thing rotting from moisture. Tomorrow we’ll get the dehumidifiers going.
Thanks all for your concerns.
Ron

So glad you escaped the flooding, Ron. And glad you had the smarts to protect everything in tubs! I love it when a plan comes together.
