We thought hard on buying it. The stove we had was relatively new so we had a hard time justifying it. But we decided it’ll be the last stove Gothichome will get until we move on. We hope that will be a long time. Once we made that choice we just checked off the boxes on the order form, and they built it for us.

Can’t afford new fancy pants now, so it’ll be back to jeans and T shirts.
AWWH, thanks, upper management likes it a lot, it’s the finishing touch for her new kitchen

Folks, a bit tardy in comming back to this thread, thanks all for the kind words on our new old kitchen. I thought I would post a few pics with all the decoration and antiques on display.
I built some rustic simple shelving for displaying upper managements antique kitchen stuff. Her Victorian jelly and pudding moles.

WOW! All looks amazing!

Gothic, it's gorgeous!!!

I have a question about your Elmira stove. Do y'all like it? Does it cook the same as compared to a "regular" stove/oven?

A gas Elmira stove came up at an estate auction about three years ago, and I didn't realize that's what it was until after the fact. I believe it went for $200. I have been kicking myself ever since then that I didn't bid on it, and I have been keeping my eye out for one ever since. Before I even consider that kind of investment, I would love to hear what an actual owner has to say about one.

Well thanks once again for the nice words. It makes upper management smile.

Southernlady, yes we really do like it. The range top and the oven are commercial grade so a far better than the old (newer) gas stove we had. We had a relatively new Fridgedaire gas stove before, the burners had a blue/yellow colder flame. The Elmira’s burners give a nice hot blue flame no matter how high you turn up the gas. The construction is also a heavier grade than that of retail grade appliances. All the shiny bits are real nickel. If I had one disappointment, it would be the temperature gauge mounted on the boor, it’s only decorative not functional, although it does appear to be a proper bimetallic gauge.

I have yet to rewire our stove to see if our door gauge works. I've read both that it was never meant to, and that it works...so I guess we'll find out in time.

Really nice to see the update and various angles as well, thank you for that.

Oh, and I still adore the "flower face" corner details. I'm sure there's another better name for that, but that's what I think of when I see them. :happy-smileyflower:
