I realized I never posted a picture of my barn, so here’s one. It’s in pretty good shape, but the little bit of work it does need will have to wait until after the house. Also, I will have to comply with the higher railings for what I call the balcony. Some things can’t be avoided.

TJ, nice to see the progress, the stair case came out well. And lots of new drywall, you’ll soon be mudding and sanding. Good to see another old home brought back from the edge.

Thanks for the updates. The stairs and the door are beautiful. I love the built in storage in your sun porch window seat. Big fan of having dual functional furniture when possible. Great progress.

Hope the seam work goes smoothly during mudding. In an older work studio I had back in the day that used to be the office for a factory, we had one thin wall section next to an interior door where we used up all the scraps we had from drywalling elsewhere, and I learned a lot about good seam work so it didn't look like the wall had gotten wet and rippled.

Ooooorrrrr, The pulling of a 1000 boards begins with the first board. Good to see your progress. What made you start on out side project, some thing had to be fixed on the outside to allow things to be fixed on the inside?

Well, I can do inside work in the winter, but not so much siding and painting. And this was the corner where the downspout went into the cistern. Things were rather rotten underneath.

I stripped my stairs, they were much like that but painted brown then grey then red underneath. the red was really hard to get out of the woodgrain and the cracks. It took a while, so much sanding in corners.

yours looks nice. will that porch become a deck as well . I noticed where the door is above it. Maybe it's a mother in law exit
