Oh JacquieJet that Frigidaire Flair is just fantastic ! It must be a blast to cook with and a great conversation piece.
Vintage Stove Trivia: Anybody remember the TV show "Bewitched"? The Flair is the stove Samantha had in her modern kitchen. (giving away my age with this trivia tidbit )

Aw, thanks guys!! I'm very attached to it. Beyond the "funky" look, it is actually a practical stove- both ovens heat quickly and evenly, and the burners have a bunch of bells and whistles (stuff like a "speed heat" burner that boils water in 1 minute, and a "heat minder" burner that automatically adjusts the temp so that pots don't boil over). Pretty neat.
TexasRed, I believe the stove was also in the Brendan Fraser move "Blast from the Past"!
Samantha's Flair was an avocado green one, wasn't it? Love it!
The neat thing is that Frigidaire changed the design of the oven glass door etchings each year, so it's very easy to date them! (Also other differences, but the etchings are the most noticeable). I can't imagine a modern stove manufacturer making design changes each year!

I love Flair stoves! They are quite unique.
Actually, I kind of love old appliances in general. I wish I had the space for a Western Holly, Chambers or Tappan dough Boy stove. Oh, and a Food-A-Rama fridge!

I hear you, Eclectic! I came across a Western Holly on eBay about a year ago, it had circular glass in the oven doors and was stunning! Makes me want to start hoarding stoves LOL. My husband refers to it as my "stove porn", heh heh.
I haven't gotten much into the older refridgerators.... yet.... I love the look, but my family are big eaters and with the older ones I've seen, I would have to start grocery shopping every two days instead of weekly because of the minimal interior space. But, if that wasn't a factor, I would totally get a monitor top fridge. Gorgeous! Maybe one day

Well, they aren't easy to come by nor are they cheap when you do find one, but you could get a food a rama, the original side by side!
This would match the Flair nicely:
I am partial the slightly older more rounded ones myself:

Gorgeous!!! If I had the space for it I would totally be on the prowl for one. Lovely! Unfortunately the space for my fridge is pretty narrow, so (for now) I'm stuck working with what I have. I can fit a narrow but deep modern fridge, but that's about it. Still, I love looking at those photos! Thanks for posting!!
In other news, Murphy's Law just kicked in... I was just talking about my Flair, and then last night the Speed Heat burner switch crapped out! Need to hunt down a new part. This could take a while!!

On the topic of appliances, I have created a whole new forum section for them as they seem to come up quite a bit

Dam it JJet, shoddy appliances construction back in 1963. Switch only lasted 56 years. Humph. Maybe a warranty claim is in order.
