Lincoln Funeral Hearse by Blue Ox Mill

Part of the former WavyGlass.org site. Anything non-old-house-related went here, but sometimes it was old-house related too

Lincoln Funeral Hearse by Blue Ox Mill

Post by Wackyshack »

It is nice to see a company who not only want to help restore and maintain your home's history but also help to do so in other venues. This article is about the Lincoln Funeral Hearse. There was another group who also rebuilt a replica of the train car. The train did travel from time to time on the tracks of the original journey pulled by the the Levithian . My love of history goes beyond my house, I also am a reenactor. I did not make it to this event, but many of my peers did and they said it was quite moving.

Neat! Thank you for sharing!

I actually met Mr. Staab and his son several months ago. They were hoping to bring the hearse and train car to Indianapolis for the National Funeral Director's convention - I'm not sure if they raised enough money, but I hope to see it in October. Absolutely lovely people. The train car was covered on CBS Sunday Morning (I think) just a week or so ago.
