Our addition by day
Re: Our addition by day
Nice surprise today! Windows were delivered and installed. All wood...the only exception is weather stripping and the screens (which I didn't know we're included, another nice surprise.).

Day 26 (of 42 calendar days). They heater is all hooked up...to our bedrooms too! For some reason the only rooms previously connected to the furnace were the living and dining rooms. We also have a new 200amp electrical panel. The only hiccup is that the new panel was put where Edison said we had to put it. Now the building inspector won't pass us without having an engineer sign off...cha-ching!

Day 28 (of 48 total days)
Our construction is still going slow...this is due to the city inspector and Edison. Hopefully we'll get back on track after tomorrow, meaning the house will be wrapped and plastered. Meanwhile the roofers started working today and got part of the roof done. I can't tell the difference between the old and the new. Can you?
The last photo is the framing around our shower

Re: Our addition by day
We are now at working day 41 (of 68 total). We had a 10 delay because a building inspector required that we have an engineer sign off on a change that Edison required. It took over a week for the paper to arrive by mail (inspector required this also). When our contractor had the paper in hand they scheduled another inspection. A different inspector came. He didn't want the newly acquired paper from the engineer, said it wasn't necessary because everything was "just fine." Things are moving along again... Today was drywall on the inside and a scratch coat outside. The place without the drywall is for one of the 4 pocket doors that will hopefully be here tomorrow. Also, the gable is done with the siding that was on the previous gable.

Day 47 (of 76 total). Tile guys hard at work and I think some tile will be going in tomorrow. Windows were officially approved by the Cultural Heritage Board (good thing since they're installed and primed ). On Monday the drywall people finished and did more than they were supposed to. Some painting is being done. Main gas and water lines have been re routed so they no longer run under the foundation. Painter is painting in areas. Plaster on the outside of the house will be done on Saturday. It's a busy week!
Re: Our addition by day
Tile is done...outside just needs a porch and painting of the windows. Supposed to be done by the end of the month.
