Lovely job. Those windows, the fireplace, the openness...it sure cuts down the need for an extensive art collection.

So true, we don't have much wall space. I'm happy that I'm getting closer to the end of this big project...but I still have a long way to go.

After 18 months of working in my spare time (and in between other parts of the project) I'm pleased to say that I have finally finished stripping the wood! This is a major milestone and one for which I've been saving a bottle of my favorite wine. Cheers!

what a gorgeous home you are creating with you labor of love (and a few bucks for the pro's too)...so very warm and cozy....course I am drooling over the windows!

It's been quite the challenge to stain the new wood. This is after lots of work! The wood in the background is a combination of old, stripped wood and new wood that has some but not nearly enough stain.

Yesterday I finally finished all the stain. The crown molding is 100% done. And the cabinet doors and drawers have been re-fitted and so they open and close very nicely. I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. :)
