Re: Stone house progress
Thanks! The couches are my mom's cast-offs. Our set from our log home was just too large for the space. I'll be recovering these floral nightmares post-haste, in some sort of oatmeal coloured neutral. The TV unit was a necessity to organize the damned wires. I rarely watch tv, but hubby lives on it, so I built the wall unit with salvaged trim etc. Not perfect, but it works.

Other views. At this time of year I'm normally consumed with gardening, but we're still under snow. I'm having a hard time dealing with all the mud in the yard and driveway, and said mud coming in on the bottom of paws.

Hi Mal,
Your TV unit construction is super---did I miss other Sone House posts? Was there a stairwell removed in the middle of that room? We live in an 1830-40s stone house in south central PA.

Hi Don
I posted other pix in a thread called Hi from Ontario. There was a centre stair, one that was walled on both sides, no balustrade. It was in such bad shape (broken treads) that we removed it, and put in another staircase from an 1825 house. We moved the location to an end wall, so the first floor is fully open now. (kitchen and L. room) It's not a very big house, mid 1800's. I've seen some real beauties in Pennsylvania, I can just imagine how nice yours is.
