I like your priorities - garden in the spring/summer - inside projects in the fall/winter. Works for me because I love playing in the garden and then I am glad to be inside in the winter.

Your house is lovely and the gardens too. Keep those pictures coming.

I found some rot on one corner of the porch so I thought I'd trim the yews back a little, but just ended up getting rid of the whole hedge. There was a tree guy in the neighborhood doing some work that chipped them up for me. It was incredibly satisfying, and as a bonus the house looks so much better!

On the other hand, I have exposed a lot of wood that needs to be replaced or repaired, but it is better to know about it now.

Anne, the fact that you got the vegetation away from the walls will help in stopping the spread.

Definitely a good practice to open it up & let the wood dry out.
