How are you making your storms? Mortise and tenon? Rabbetted? Pocket screws? Inquiring minds want to know!

I'm starting early on 2 windows this year. I have 8 of these basement windows and 7 are covered up. I wanted to do 2 and get to them before the plants get too tall.

Here are a few pics.

I'll make some storms and screens later this year for these. I also made security bars for these and I'll show that in another thread.

Finished #44 and 45 today.

These windows are visible to people passing by so I also made some curtains so they won't look in. Joann fabrics had canvas on sale 60" wide and $5.99 a yard. I cut them to the size and hemmed the edges and installed some grommets. The ran a wire rope between screw eyes with a turnbuckle for my rod. I probably have $12 in each curtain with the hardware.

The basement has so much more light now and the difference outside makes me want to do the other 6 on the other side of the house. Maybe this fall.

I can't believe how good that looks! The colors that you have worked with are spot on.

So this it it for windows for a while. I'll be working on a small pavilion and the cedar shakes so I'll see how I end up later this summer and maybe I'll do a few more.

Wow, I hadn't checked back in a little while. Those "security bars" look absolutely gorgeous! Also, just FYI, a whole bunch of the photos aren't showing anymore.
