Remember the Granville house?

Post by Ireland House »

We are old old house lover and new old house owners! Remember the Granville house from It's a Wonderful Life? Make it an Arts and Crafts house and that is us. This house has been used and abused for many years. Built for the town doctor in 1907, then sold to a family who ran it as a nursing home, then back to a single family, then apartments, then a single family who didn't know how to treat an old house, then finally us, who treasure its history. Lot's of unusual stuff in this house. Fire hoses and alarms, walls where they do not belong and a truly unidentified electrical box. Will try to post more pictures as we delve further into the insanity that is our life.
Today is my happily ever after.

When I saw the title I got real excited...that is my favorite movie house! Gotta love Donna Reed...now that's my kind of woman...pretty and plucky and actually wants to live in a falling down 2nd empire!

Look forward to seeing pictures of your house, even if it doesn't look like the one in the movie. ;)

Help! I can't seem to post pictures! I have pictures on shutterfly, but not a blog. Do I need to start a blog somewhere in order to import pictures to this site? Signed very disgusted with myself. I can plumb a sink and sew up a storm, but my computer is getting the best of me!
