A little more progress since last week. There are only a couple hours of daylight after work, so I am lucky to get 8 boards up. This is a long weekend and the weather is supposed to be nice, so I am hoping for lots of progress!

Re: Addition
Just curious--are you living in the wing/addition yet? Sometimes people put all their energy into the exterior while the weather's good, thinking the indoor work can be done during winter.

it is indeed a wing. We don't use the 'new' main door but we use the back door (the one you can see in the picture) every day. The basement holds our winter wood, so it is used. The master bath and closet aren't used yet though. We are concentrating on the exterior until it gets too cold, then we are going to switch to drywall/ flooring over the winter.

We are nearing the top! Just in time for winter too. We have been lucky with the warm weather. The only things slowing us down are the gable vents on the original house and a propane stove vent to install on the addition. Once those are done we can take down the staging and finish off the back side.

Re: Addition
Your progress is great & it's all coming together nicely.
Re: Addition
Another weekend and more progress. The west side of the original house is pretty much done, except for the gable vent and first row of siding (has to be cut down to fit). We worked on the backend of the house today. The next step will be to install the gable trim. It was -5 C today with a windchill of -15, so we were bundled up tight!
It really changes the look of the house, and makes the current metal siding look pretty dumpy.

We only managed to get a little bit farther on the siding since the last photo. We have had an abnormal amount of snow so I don't foresee getting back to siding for another couple months. For now we've been working on the inside. Now that there are more daylight hours we seem to have a lot more progress, and have a majority of the drywall up now.
The "enclosed porch".
Laundry room.
I am super glad we went with two light figures as it gives the room a lot of light. We chose school house style for this room because of the tall ceilings.
The upstairs. This was the most difficult because of all the angles.

Gunna rip off that front porch thing? The work you have done is soo nice and that front is in turn pretty hideous.
