Dormer project

Post by mattswabb »

So I set up the scaffolding today and removed the aluminum and vinyl. Everything was there except for 1 piece of molding, same piece was missing on other projects.

Here are a few pics

Happy for you!! Any time I took down the siding there was a disaster under it... nice to know there are projects that go as you expect, remove siding, scrape, paint.
If everything is coming your way..... You're in the WRONG lane!!!

Yahoo for lazy aluminum/vinyl siding installers who just slap it over whatever was there !

every time you remove some of that siding the house looks so much better, and thats before you have scraped, painted or glazed!

It's awesome. Hopefully you have an idea of what the missing bed mold looked like from elsewhere on the house.

I had a shadow line on another area and had a molding cutter of a similar shape.

Just a little work on it today due to our district meeting and strong storm. I did take out the windows and covered the holes. Tomorrow I might work on them depending on the weather.

Look at how much better it looks just by removing the ugly mod.

Got the dormer in primer today. Sashes are done. I'll caulk tomorrow and paint over the weekend. Then on to the cedar shingles.
