The stupid kitchen thing, restoration

I like laminate,(formica) it lasts!
I chose one that looks like stone and i like it but I did have a not so bright girlfriend that thought it was stone and put a hot pot on it and it made a big bubble. I got more so I won't have trouble to match it when I get the time to replace the stuff. I don't like stone because if you put a hot cup of coffee on it it sucks all the heat from the cup and if you drop anything it breaks. It does look nice I just don't like the cold hard feel of it.
