Redoing the half bath

I mounted the toilet bowl and test fitted the tank. I used a piece of 2" exhaust pipe to test fit everything and decide how long to cut the finished pipe. The finished pipe is nickel plated and I have a nice escution to cover the spud.

This weekend I'll finish the hookup.

Matt...the beauty, ingenuity and speed at which you complete projects is beyond the pale. Your bathroom is lovely. Congrats...your home is lucky to have you!

Any thought of trying Pittsburgh for salvage. Has a TON of historic homes. During one parental visit, I had stopped by Columbus' Architectural Salvage and was pleasantly surprised by both the volume, quality and pricing....but Pittsburgh has many more old & historic homes (plus several great breweries!).

So I'm back from my little trip. I finished to toilet today. I still need to find a piece of quarter sawn white oak to make a new toilet seat. We bought a vintage hinge for the future seat.

It's leaking around one of the slipnuts and also the fill valve won't fully shut off. I'll deal with that tomorrow. I have a few spare slip joint washers.

Anyways I cleaned the heck out of the sink. Only damage is at the drain. I bought an epoxy paint repair kit and will repaint the drain area tomorrow.

Fixed the toilet leaks. One was I cross threaded one of the slip nuts between the tank and bowl. Easy fix once I discovered it. The other was the tank ball wasn't sealing the tank water in. It was leaking to the bowl. The ball was new so I put the old one in and sealed perfectly.

I epoxied the drain area. Once the drain is in you'll see a little of the repair. I also installed the cabinet. Over the next few days I'll finish.
