Goodbye old house

Post by KirstenN (WavyGlass) »

So, we sold our 1914 Toronto house. I'm really going to miss it!

If anyone wants to see the fully staged photos, it seems to still be the featured listing on our agent's website, at least for a little while longer:

The weekend after it sold, we had a big "house-cooling" birthday party for the house, since we figure it turns 100 this year. We had about 60 people come out.

We've only been here 9 years, but it's the house we bought together and moved into when we got married. This is where we were foster parents, and where I went back to school to become a teacher. There are lots of good memories in all the rooms.

We're moving this weekend too - from our first old house. Been here 8 years, and I swore I'd never leave, but the next old house in the country came along and it needs some love (not to mention is much larger) so away we go.

I am not as sad to leave as I thought I'd be - a sign that the new house is the "right" house for us right now. But I am very glad that the buyer of our sweet little old house is very excited to be moving here, and will take good care of it.

Good luck with your move. :)

Some thing must be in the air, at this moment I am waiting on the movers to move most our stuff from Calgary to Gothichome in Chatham.

maybe there is some truth to something being in the air....i just accepted an offer on my house! it is not easy finding a small--1,000 sf--house with a little yard a bit back from a quiet road in walking distance to town...

good luck with your move kristen!

Sounds like a handful are doing the transition from one old place to another!

Here's a toast to you all for your new/old places & may the new owners love & care for the old places as much as you had!!
