A cast-iron mantel...I think...for the kitchen...vent-a-hood face if you will...12 foot ceilings...tapered boxed from the top of this to the ceiling....sort of Victorian Gothic...

I love it , it reminds me of a train tunnel we have some here cut through the rock with that same shape and it just looks so heavy like part of a locomotive - or something. It would be cool to build a brick fireplace with a curved top to match it.
