Well, I guess it's my time to move over here as well. It's a shame that a few "idiots" ruin it for the rest of us. I look forward to our many discussions, and I too will continue to visit the "Old House Web", and hope that the owners get their butts in gear and do something about things. We can only hope.
Just a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I came over here last week, but I am not giving up on Old House.
Perhaps they could add more Mods with the power to eject the spammers.

I'm doing both here and there, for the time being. It is sad to lose all the posts that have been left there. :(

Sorrry I'm late!

Was on OHB since we bought our place in 2000. Spent a lot of time there until our first was born in 2008 and then got so involved in being a dad and trying to get work done that my posting has fallen way off.

I think i'm going back over there to cut a paste some important stuff to this site.

It seems like Schag has given up too - or has anyone seen him around recently?

The one thing I personally(!) can't understand is why he insisted on protecting the cause of owners who don't back him up at all back when all this started. If I were in his shoes I think I simply wouldn't be able to feel responsible for this mess any more.

I like to participate in as many of these type of forums as I can find. OHW was my favorite because of how active it was and the people. Now there is not a lot going on overt there because of the spam. I was an early member of this site too, and I am checking it more and more frequently. I don't have a large network of people around my area who appreciate or even understand what I am doing with the house, So I love having this outlet for discussion/advice!

I've changed the spambot countermeasures. If need be, I can make them more restrictive (at the cost of inconveniencing legitimate new users).
