Roller knap for sizing

Post by Gothichome »

Folks got to size the plaster in the project room. The question is, what knapp should I be using?

I think a 10 is for reasonably smooth walls.

Thicker nap = holds more paint = more stipple surface on the paint laid down on the wall ?

If your walls are not drywall smooth then you may do better with a heavier nap (15) to get paint on a slightly inconsistent surface.

If it were me I would use a big ass brush, but if I were using a roller I'd go for short nap

Short nap because you don't want the "orange-peel" effect under the wallpaper.

In the US, nap is measured in fractions of an inch rather than, I assume, millimeters in Canada. You'd probably want 1/4-inch to get a smooth surface when you're done. 3/8-inch will still leave some texture if it dries quickly.
