So, now that we're in the final stages of buying, Id like to share some pictures of the interior. Looking forward to insights and ideas!

The only first to second floor staircase. We had hoped there would be a second set, but no luck.

Parlor? The front windows here and in the room above are curved. Luckily, all 6 are intact!

Room 'behind' the parlor. I think the pocket doors here once had a matching set in the living room (below).

Living room or bowling alley? Opposite side of first floor. Where I stood taking this was likely the viewing area during the house's time as a funeral home. There's ivory satin bunting along the ceiling above where Im standing that WILL be removed.

Flooring detail - first floor. These patterns are also on the second floor, although several are cut off by walls - hopefully theyre intact underneath. Third has slighty wider, darker wood layed straight.

That is a fine house; it doesn't look like they skimped anywhere.

Gezz, what a spectacular floor. As Casey said, no expense was spared when it was built.

It's lovely, and looks fairly un-messed with, the ceiling tiles and boob lights looking to be the worst of it. Was it previously used as a home, or something else?

I will be that a bunch of that woodwork was not originally painted, the wainscoting in the hallway for example.

Thank you all - we're very happy to have found it! As far as we know, it was a single family home, then a funeral home on the first floor with the 2nd reconfigured into apartments. Then theres a gap in what we can find, and it foreclosed last year.

I agree about the painted wood - cant wait to get to the point of working on that!

Theres some serious work to be done in the rear of the house. The flat roof on the rear enclosed porch has a leaking scupper whiich has damaged the wall and ceiling of the room below. We're hoping to be able to save the porch. The flloor in that room is pretty bad too - we may end up making that the kitchen in the future.

yes a bit of painters damage for sure the wainscott beside the stairs was beautiful before the paint, but wow those doors! I wonder how many separate pieces it took ? if you were to count each piece of glass and came and wood it would be a pretty huge number ! what a beautiful space! it's big! I just took a whole lot of ceiling tiles out that look similar and mine was not asbestos. I'ts lovely now and only going to get better! You must be so excited!
