What style of light fixture is this (in need of search terms)

Post by mkeller234 »

I recently bought a lamp that is an identical match to this photo:

I want to find another one like it since my kitchen has two places for a light fixture. I'm having trouble figuring out google search terms for it. What were these called?

I don't know that there's a special term for it other than a semi-flush kitchen light. This one looks to be from the early '50s.

They're not uncommon, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding another or at least one that's very similar. They turn up on ebay frequently and I've seen them at a lot of architectural salvage businesses.

Yes, pulled some thing similar when redoing the summer kitchen, 1962 vintage.

We have one of those in our bathroom from its 1950's reno. They still sell similar ones at Lowe's: http://www.lowes.com/pd/Ashton-6-25-in- ... t/50123971

I need two for my kitchen. I bought mine from home depot only to find the round fluorescent fixtures that it needs are discontinued.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I was afraid there might not be too specific of a term. On the other hand, like others said they do seem to be plentiful and plenty cheap. I will have to keep an eye out at the resale shops
