You may be thinking of a roof over an "eyebrow window"or a "eyebrow dormer" where the shingles continue over the eyebrow window into the main roof. The gable end eyebrow roof feature, also known as a roof return, or cornice return, uni-brow cornices, or greek returns, sometimes return in a few feet, other times all the way across the gable end. So many eyebrows, so little time
At least that's what I've been told
