You have resigned yourself to the fact that modern burner cover sets for stove tops are not meant for someone like you.

You've also accepted the fact that if you want burner covers where all four match, you'll either have to buy two sets to get four that match, or spend countless hours on auction sites or in shops trying to cobble together a full set of whatever mold or design.

This is because nowadays they are either sets of two 8" and two 10" covers, or two 10" and two 12" covers. Your vintage stove, of course, needs four 8" because it was cast from an 1800s woodstove so all the burners are the same size.

...........Yes my woodworking is paint grade. I hire out the work that is natural wood like our kitchen. After almost 40 years fixing old houses some things I'm simply never going to get good at.

You know how to do things better than all the contractors you interview, thus leading you to vow to do it all yourself, and thus adding years to the projects. *sigh*
