How would you describe this roof?

Post by pgoodcake »

Would this be considered a cat slide roof? Any guess at what type of slate might be on this roof? I appreciate any and all info! Thanks!

I I have no idea what you would call this home, best I can come up with would be craftsman but it realy would not fit. Could be a twenties modernist style of some sort. As far as the slate, I have no idea, a lot of slate came out of Pennsylvania

Thanks Ron.

This house seems to be a 1930s mishmash of styles and some odd updates. There are some Tudor Revival touches, like the front door, interior doors and slate roof.

I found a similar roof on a 16th century Sussex farmhouse.

I think your right, late Craftsman details on a Tudor style home. Maybe a variation of storybook cottage design. I see it has a readers lock box on it. Obviously for sale.

That's definitely Pennsylvania slate, probably from one of the Lehigh Valley quarries.
