Well that looks good James, second grade wood back then is now considered #1 grade now.

On the south side of the house, there are four small windows: dining room and pantry on the first floor (stained glass), and bedroom and bath on the second. I had a feeling the bedroom window was in need of some serious help:



The fire that damaged the sleeping porch and overhang cracked (I suspect) the glass and blackened the paint, but fortunately, not the wood. The bathroom is being converted to Florentine glass, so I'll use the glass from it in the bedroom window. I'm bringing the sash back to natural (stained) wood on the interior, so it's a little extra work to remove all the paint, but it's a Craftsman-style house, so I think it's worth the effort. Making progress. Right now, sash interiors are stained and ready for spot touch up (burnt sienna acrylic works well), and then shellac; exteriors are blopentined and will get primer tomorrow. Primer dries fast, so I may glaze tomorrow, too. Woo hoo!
