From late 1800s to early 1900s: What Christmas Trees Looked Like 100 Years Ago (20 Photos)

Clicking the "next photo" link on the bottom of the page took me to a page of outdoor downtown shots of Christmas decor, then that page took me to toys, then I stopped myself to come post here about the trees. :D

My personal fav, as my paternal grandparents had a silver tree (though theirs was 50s/60s aluminum style):

Very nice Lily, a bit of trivia, the Christmas tree was brought into the English speaking world by Queen Victoria’s German husband, Prince Albert shortly after their marriage in 1840. Soon there after it became a Christmas staple in the Briton.

Nice photos. Aside from the trees and decorations, I also like the glimpse into the ordinary trappings of domestic interiors 100 years ago.

Nice. A light-hearted message for a holiday that has today become too gravely commercial. Also makes me sentimental for the old Gros Michel.

This was a Christmas tree 1938 style with my mom, two aunts and my grandmother. My mom's the one wearing the black and white checked dress and a big smile.

Or the wardrobe stylings ? He better have some socks that match the vest. Or perhaps the reason his sock area is hidden in the photo is because his best socks have been hung on the organ as Christmas stockings ?

Have a listen right here !
