Another old house to drool over- Chatham edition.

Post by JacquieJet »

This one is so gorgeous. Built in 1880, and only 2 owners since. The details are incredible- the stained glass, the elevator, the staircase... sigh!
Just wanted to share!

JJet, drive by this home often. Great looking home, even better lot. It sits on the end of a row of grand Victorian homes. It’s been for sale for as long as I can remember.

What a lovely house, it might do a little better on the market if it were staged a little better. The listing makes it seem kind of small and cluttered

Interesting! I'm surprised it would sit for long, especially considering the details and price.
I was trying to talk my husband into buying it, but his commute to work would be less than optimal

JJet, yes I too am surprised, as far as price goes it’s a bit on the high end for Chatham, but it does have a lot to offer. I suspect the taxes on the lot would be a killer, you could build four modern high end homes on the lot. When it was built it would have been on the edge of the city. Now it sits in what Is a higher end 1920 development. Lots of period Craftsman and revival era homes, but nothing as grand as the row of late Victorian homes this home is on. Also, if you think this is a grand home, you should see the one beside it. Might be worth a google street view session.

I'm getting a "Property Listing Not Found" message. Could you post the address?

Haha I actually did the street view and snooped around! :D
There are some unbelievable homes there. Just gorgeous. Let's hope no one builds 4 modern homes on the lot... :wtf:

It looks like it has sold! The listing has been pulled! Hopefully someone appreciates the character of the home!
Gothic, you should be a welcome wagon and tell the new owners about THD :)

Did anyone happen to save the pics? I forgot to save them and now the listing is gone.
