Information on this Lamp?
Re: Information on this Lamp?
It's pretty in its own right. I'd save it from target practice.

Re: Information on this Lamp?
It looks similar to one my family had when I was growing up. As kids, we tended to be hard on things (!), so I vaguely remember peeling off the decorations on the lamp shade. It was some sort of plastic that was piped onto the glass. I wonder if this is the same thing?

It looks like metal, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's plastic. I'm never surprised when something is plastic.

I actually own one that’s very similar. It belonged to my grandparents. I believe they got it for a 25th anniversary. So I’d put mine around the 1960s. The bottom lights up on mine as well.

Re: Information on this Lamp?
Another fun fact - a lamp like this was seen in Garth Brooks’ If Tomorrow Never Comes music video. That video was released in 1989 but of course that doesn’t really date the lamp appropriately.
I’m a huge Garth fan. It’s probably the reason I kept the lamp.

Here's another on Ebay............. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Hurric ... 2900326569
My dad worked in the decorative glass manufacturing in the 1950's to the 1990's we had lots of these Gone With The Wind style lamps around the house. I don't remember any with raised flowers, but many were hand painted or had decal decorations.

The eBay one is very similar, and yet a little different shape; it's so close, I had to go look at mine. I suspect, however, that the $265 price tag is wishful thinking. Another fashion I remember from those days was tole: lamps, trays, containers, etc.
Re: Information on this Lamp?
Whew, yeah - 265 'or best offer'. Makes me wonder what best offer might take it. $40? Shipping would be a beast.
