One thing to watch for if you buy one is the direction the door swings. I have a new in the box old one and thought I could just put it on but the parts can not be flipped around. maybe it's not the left or right swing but weather it opens in or out. It's kind of a puzzle but I came to realize mine won't work on the door I had intended. I suppose it is unusual that an exterior door opens out and I guess that's what its for. Maybe that's why I found it NIB. someone else bought it and had the same issue and stuck it on a shelf for 50 years just to mess me up ;-) I could probably cut , flip and re-weld the latch to make the rounded part of the latch face the other way, but it's not an easy fix.

So if you get one on Ebay or something.. Pay attention to the way the latch works.
