Newel post lamp for the Old Vic...a Christmas present from my Mom. The lamp and shade as best as I can tell, have no hallmarks. It will be about 1930's vintage...as it was originally/always electric. The house it came from was considerably older (Old Vic vintage). It was a house Mom owned in the 80's. When it was up for sale folks kept breaking in and taking things so we removed the lamp.
The base is sand cast. Bronze I think. The rest is soldered bronze.
It will find a place of honor here in the Old Vic.

What a fab lamp Daniel. It will be perfectly at home at the Old Vic.
Lovely gift from your Mom. They seem to know just the right gift to touch our hearts

Re: Newel post lamp...
Very nice! These slag glass lamps were very popular from about 1910 through the mid 1920s. This one still has some Art Nouveau styling, but you can start seeing slight hints of Art Deco emerging, so I'd say it's more like 1920-25. Does it still have its original socket? That will be one way to help date it.

Not sure if it's the original socket...but I guessed the year based on the date electricity came to town here
