when I was a kid and skateboards were a new fad I decided to build myself my own skateboard but the only wheels I had were the steel ones like in that picture. The skateboard shook like crazy and had no steering since those wheels don't turn when you lean. I remember the board was really bendy, I think it was probably 1/4 or 3/8ths plywood.
to this day I couldn't ride a skateboard to save my life..

just before christmas I got a bunch of free stuff and in there was a pair of mens and a pair of ladies skates. they are really nice ones with the leather shoe etc.. .. I'm tempted to try them but maybe Id be best to not pretend I'm 16 again lol . ;-) but they look so fun. I think there is one roller rink still open - stardust We used to have so much fun roller skating.. The ladies skates are too big for my girlfriend so she's safe ;-)

yea dating myself ;-) oh well !

Looks like some of that original lacquer finish might be savable. Hard to say without seeing it in person.

There was nothing worth salvaging on this. It had been soaked with water for many years.
