Post by Mick_VT »

Picked up these candle lustres yesterday, they are a little older period than the room I have put them in but I think they work quite well. They took an age to clean them them up - I removed all the prisms, washed everything in stemware soap and reassembled, added a couple of large squat candles, and this was the result...

They look very nice. I love the way the cut glass pattern throws shapes and patterns around on the walls.

Very nice and they go well with Christmas decorations. The glass looks a lot like the ruby flash "souvenir" glass that was popular in the 1890s through the 1910s.

Those are beautiful, Mick. They create an elegant mood, and with their companions, a little Christmassy too. You mention that they're older than your house, but it would be natural for a room to have objects accumulated over the years. FWIW, I think they blend nicely.

How pretty! Will you keep them out all the time, or just for Christmas? They really look festive. Where did you get them?
