At a couples shower before we got married, several of my mother-in-law's friends took me aside to teach me the secrets of a successful marriage. They are:
1 - "Yes, dear."
2 - "You were right; I was wrong."
3 - "Go ahead honey, you tell it much better than I do."

Sort of...in our house, we would say, "Yes, babies." If he said "dear", I'd be confused.

sometimes I'll complain and say "must you always be so (insert adjective) right ? "
