I've never used this service, but if someone needs porcelain work on a tub or sink, this is the only way to do it right.

I have an original steel Kohler tub that I need to have refinished along with a double drain board sink. Does anyone know of a source in the DFW area?

DFW is Dallas-Fort Worth, aka Metroplex, to Texans. No idea how to get this done in less than a full day's drive, though...

The above page gives an alternate place to get enameling re-done, but only on steel or small cast iron items (i.e. not cast baths or sinks). Just in case the above link stops working at some point in the future, here is the company they reference http://www.ipe-porcelain.com/

Hi Mick.

Nope, in the link above is a place that will reporcelain STEEL sinks, and some much smaller cast iron parts. You could not bring in a stainless steel sink without a previous porcelain finish to be porcelained, as one reader attempted to. The story shows one reader's successfully completed sink.

Here is a previous link that mentions both places as well as where to get new reproduction farm house style sinks, too:

Custom Ceramic Coatings in Illinois: http://www.customceramic.com/index.htm can reporcelain cast iron or steel sinks, tubs, stove parts, etc. though according to RetroRenovation the waiting time is 2-3 YEARS, and the shipping costs are fairly high.

I had to read what I wrote several times to see why you were disagreeing with me there. I had not even considered that somebody would call a stainless sink a steel sink, but I guess they would

Does anyone know of a company in or near Oregon that will re-porcelain over steal kitchen sinks? I have a large (aprox 60") double sink with drainboards on both sides that I want to have taken down to the metal and re-porcelained. Thank you in advance for any leads on companies in the Pacific Northwest.
