Tin Ceiling & Ornaments from 1898

Post by WFNorman »

For authentic hand-pressed tin ceilings, check out https://wfnorman.com.

The W. F. Norman Corporation is a turn-of-the-century manufacturing company that still produces tin ceilings, molding, cornices, metal shingle roofing, siding and ornaments on antique rope drop hammers. Using dies from 1898, our products are produced in zinc, copper and brass. You can find patterns from several eras such as Victorian, Colonial, Gothic and Art Deco.

View products online (https://wfnorman.com) or order a catalog by emailing info@wfnorman.com or calling 1-800-641-4038.

Wow! I wish I knew about this when we did our steel roof... aw well. I'll keep your company in mind when we do our tin ceiling.

I have to say W.F. Norman's ceilings are probably the best quality and most authentic out there. They use heavier gauge metal than most of their competition and their products are just like the originals. Their paper catalog is an excellent resource that I believe is a reprint of the same catalog they were using around 1910.

We've ordered ceilings for two of our rooms from them.

Nice catalogue, nice products. And it comes with unsolicited recommendations.

This resource is amazing. Their commitment to the process and to their products reminds me of the General Pencil Company in Jersey City, NJ: long-established businesses, making a superior product the way they always have. I only wish they offered more roofing patterns but I'm sure they have their reasons...

I built a chimney for a comrade old;
I did the service not for hope or hire:
And then I travelled on in winter’s cold,
Yet all the day I glowed before the fire.
