So Excited!

I introduced myself on the old forum, telling you all that after my husband died, I bought a house built in 1932, and restoring it was my therapy to get me through my loss. I ended up having to sell it five yrs ago, and have lived vicariously through all of you ever since. I thought my "dream house" days were over. Boy, was I wrong!

I am beyond excited to announced that my true dream house is about to be mine! We will be closing in about 30 days and I can't wait to get in there! Since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated with anything involving the Civil War, Slavery and the Underground Railroad. My new old house involves all three! The house was build in 1824 and has such an amazing history. Fortunately, I've been able to find a lot of information about the house online, and I was told that the Historical Society (that's at the corner of my new street!) has tons of info about the house.

I can't wait to get in there and start exploring, and feel so honored that I have the chance to show this house the love and respect it deserves.

Thank you all so much for the kind replies! The house is in great shape, but there are still so many projects ahead of me and I seriously can't wait to start! First up, the beautiful wrought iron fence that surrounds the property needs a lot of TLC! I felt like I was on a"treasure hunt" when I found another set of double gates for the fence, and what I believe are the original front windows in the loft in the garage.

I can finally put the knowledge that I've gained from all of you to good use! Mo, I only posted once on the old site, but I've followed some of you, and your projects and blogs, for years. I feel like I know you all! I can't wait to become an "active member" now, and share my progress in what I believe will be the adventure of a lifetime!

With as many sites have claimed to have been a connection on the underground RR.. you have something others don't... Documentation... I was so excited by your house I looked this up
