Hi all,

My name is Asiyah (rhymes with Mariah) and I am the proud owner of a dutch colonial house built in 1905. My family lives in a historic district in Memphis and we are enjoying getting acquainted with our neighborhood. Right now I'm researching the owner records of the house but have only gotten to the year 1908.

True story: I learned that the original owner was an Irishman named G.M. Tagg or George Miller Tagg. Not long ago, I was on a tour of Elmwood Cemetery to learn about the yellow fever epidemic when I spotted a section of the cemetery that had a lot of Tagg gravestones. I decided to take a picture of some of the names so I could continue my research, and literally stumbled over the grave of "my" George Miller Tagg. I got goosebumps seeing that name!

Anyway, here are a few photos of the old house (sorry they are so large!)

Nice to be here!
Asiyah

What a lovely home! You've got some really beautiful details there!
I've been researching my home's previous owners, too. It's pretty neat to see what turns up!

Love the wall tile in the shower. And the stone wall along the front of the yard.

Hello Asiyah!! What a pretty home! Looks like the original details are intact too....which is super sweet!

I found all my owners (I call them the Peeps!) up in the local cemetery. Yeah...I visit their graves.
