Screens are all tacked into place. My dad has made some trim out of treated wood that we will begin to install shortly.

Yeah, being built in 1940 it's definitely not as ornate as homes built just 10-15 years ahead of it. It's also a colonial-revival so I think that "plain" is part of the style. We didn't buy this home because we totally loved the structure, the neighborhood and yard size were the real attraction. Even so, it's grown on me a lot, especially after speaking to the family who originally had it built.
