I'm restoring a Victorian rowhouse and a Craftsman duplex currently. They have been affordable places for my adult kids to rent. But to get them at a good price, they were handyman specials, and we've had to do most of the work!
We previously owned a Victorian farmhouse that we spent seven years renovating/restoring. Our first home was a cute wartime story and a half with plaster walls, hardwood floors, all wood windows, siding and gumwood trim.
I've always loved old house character! My parents don't understand since they like new, new, new! But my husband has been my reno partner and we have learned lots together. We've also sustained injuries in the process - Back (him) and shoulder (me). These bodies aren't what they used to be! Right now I'm recovering from major surgery so can only make lists of what needs to get done, lol.
