Loved the blog post - tried to leave a comment but the blog software crapped out on me.
Intrigued by those pocket doors, looking forward to seeing what they look like closed (as I know you are!) after reading your entry on them, I recalled a member at WG whose pocket doors had a wire routed through them by a ham fisted electrician! I hope that isn't the case here and just that its an issue with the track. this site http://www.fixpocketdoors.com/ although it is messy and looks like a spammy advert has a lot of great info on fixing pocket doors, the guy who owns it is a restoration expert.

Ah, too bad, we aren't even sure people are reading, haha. So thanks!
More importantly, thank you for the information on the doors. Very useful as we try and get things "back to normal."

Yes, I remember clearly the WG post with the wire run thru the pocket door; wasn't there something else that happened to those doors?

Anyone have a link to that? Now I am questioning if we should even paint that wall until we fix those doors....

http://www.wavyglass.org/viewtopic.php? ... cket+Doors here is the original comment I think!

Thank you!

I would get them working before paint, just in case you need to go into the wall.

Yep, looks that way.
Some cool stuff found today. They left so much stuff in the house, really a treasure hunt every day. Hard to know where to start!

For the sake of sanity, start and finish in one place first, THEN move on to the next room, otherwise you'll just end up with a bunch of mess everywhere and it will feel overwhelming. At least once you get one room done, you'll have one really nice place to hang out in, enjoy, and show your friends!

This is exactly our thoughts. We ripped the kitchen out because it was horrible, but we won't move on form the "tv room" until we are completely done.
