Prozart, nice home. I think you may have the making of a nice Art Deco home. Lots of Art Deco hardware, lights, etc out there. You'll soon be changing your shopping habits from what's new and looks appropriate to what is old enough to be appropriate.

Yes that is a cool looking home, I am a big fan of interior archways.

Good luck and have fun!

The kitchen looks nice - has some character with old window trim and you have a good base with which to make it your own! We recently redid our kitchen and had to make hard choices on how to keep the character while making it fully functional for me. I think you will have a lot of fun with your new home.

the pointing on the stone walls outside and on the fireplace. it looks so even in width, it looks almost like they laid some sort of square plaster tape? was that a style or what? why do I see pointing done like that? it seems fairly common. would that be original pointing or is that someone's repair?

Most likely the pointing is original. Making the lines straight is easy. Making them nice and neat isn't so easy.
