Very interesting pictures Tony, are those two homes still there? And the school. I noticed you received a hitching post beside your carriage step some time between the pics. Seems those folks in the second picture were going for a drive, looks like baskets on the running boards, a common place to put stuff before trunks became common.

Sadly the one on the right has been gone for many years and the one on the left was once very grand but has been cut up into apartments.
There was also a house that sat next to the house on the left in that picture. That house on the left was added on to after the house was torn down in the early 1940s.
Here is picture of the house that once set directly across the street from my house.

Ya, these things happen, bit of a shame though. That's why our efforts in my view are worthy efforts. We need to keep some of the past alive. Nice little T roadster, maybe the kid with the bicycle in you first set pics grew out of it, and moved on to a car? Oh, I noticed the road deposits, seems there was local horse drawn delivers on you block.

Wondering what I should use to restore the sheen to this old floors? I was thinking about using tung oil? Iinseed oil? Has anyone had good luck with anything else?

Be careful what you use, probably want to determine what is on the floors first, then decide what to use.

Re: 1899 Victorian
A good old fashion waxing might be all it needs. By the way nice floors.
Re: 1899 Victorian
Yes to paste wax then a good buffing.
Re: 1899 Victorian
I have to show off my new porch like light as well.
