Corsetiere from OHW and WG

Post by Corsetière »

Hello! I migrated too!

And I have a new baby to share! This is my new project!
We're currently working on getting the radiators and boiler back into shape (in time for winter). The house was briefly vacant during a couple (crucial) months last winter so there were some burst pipes, but basically most of the heating repairs have been made and we'll be back up and running soon!

Wish me luck, I'll probably be back here frequently for moral support through out this arduous process!

Since the radiators were off for the heating repairs, I started striping some of the wood and was excited by what I found! :D

Thanks! I think I will need to buy paint stripper by the case, though! :lol:

I peeled back the laminate in some places and there are pretty decent wood floors. Some of the upstairs ones were painted (badly) though. Oh yes tiled hearths, too! :) They actually put paneling over the entire tile part of the fireplaces! :shock:

Corsetiere glad you found us. Your new home looks to be a bit of a treasure hidden behind what paint and laminate. I'm sure you'll have it looking grand in now time. If I may be so bold, why did you sell the other home?

Wow, beautiful woodwork! I see stripping in your future ;-}

Hopefully the laminate floors and paneling has protected some of the original items.

hint, hint (more pics)
